Parent Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) comprises all of the staff and parents of children at the School. The Association exists to promote activities, and to further links amongst parents, and between parents and the school. This involves social and other activities aimed at encouraging parents to meet, raise funds for school activities, and provide support to children and teaching staff.

  • To raise money to purchase equipment or provide activities that the School could not otherwise afford.
  • To promote social activities at which parents, children and staff can mix.

Clifton Hampden School is small and the PTA's success relies on contributions from as many of the parents that can, and are willing, to spend time and energies in organising activities and in attending events.

An email address has been setup for the PTA any suggestions or ideas please forward them to cliftonhampdenpta@hotmail.co.uk

The PTA raised over £5,800 during the year 2006/7. This is an increase on the figure raised in the previous year, and above the expectation that the PTA can raise between £4000 and £5000 per year. This is an extraordinary achievement given the size of the school.

The PTA spent around £5,800 and has contributed money to the following areas:-

  • Swimming lessons transport
  • French lessons
  • School trips
  • Drumming workshop
  • Electric piano
  • Christmas party
  • White board
  • Scanner
  • Plant pots and flowers

The allocation of funds for use by the school is agreed between the PTA and the headteacher/staff.

Our big fund-raisers are the Sponsored Walk and Collection of Mooring Fees (we are graciously given consent by a local landowner to collect mooring fees on a stretch of the river bank). These raise around £1,000 each. The school fete and raffle raises around £1,900 and other activities tend to raise about £400 an event.
